The university is excited to celebrate the graduates at the university-wide Commencement ceremony on May 21 at 7:30 p.m. in the Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium. Please read the below information as it pertains to both graduate and guest tickets.
The following ticket policy applies only to the university-wide ceremony. Please reach out to your college or school contact for questions regarding your respective event, and if tickets are needed to attend.
Tickets are required for graduates and guests to attend the university-wide ceremony in-person. Tickets are free of charge. All tickets are available electronically only. There is no in-person ticket distribution for the university-wide ceremony.
All graduates must secure a graduate ticket to enter DKR-TMS for Commencement. Graduates were emailed a link to the ticket site specific to their college or school on May 10. The promotional code for the site is the graduate's EID. Graduates MUST use the link provided in the email as it is specific to the college or school they're graduating in.
This ticket will allow the student to participate in the graduate processional that starts the university-wide Commencement ceremony in which graduates enter the with their classmates from their college or school.
Graduates will be seated on the field with their college or school. Graduates with majors in more than one college or school will need to select one college or school to sit with.
Tickets are required for all guests attending the university-wide ceremony. The tickets are free of charge and available now. There is no limit to the number of guests a graduate may invite to the university-wide ceremony.
Guests must have a Texas Athletics ticket account to reserve tickets and may set one up here. It is not recommended that graduates reserve tickets for their guests, as guests will enter the stadium separate from their graduate. Tickets are not required for children under the age of two years old.
Guest tickets are general admission and seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Saving of seats is not permitted.
Ticket FAQs and Troubleshooting
Q: I'm a graduate and my EID isn't working in the promotional code field.
A: Please ensure you are using the link that was emailed to you that is specific to your college or school. You can not use a link for another college or school's allotment of tickets.
If you have confirmed that you are using the correct link, please ensure you have completed all of the necessary steps to apply and be approved to graduate. The EIDs in the system are current as of Monday, May 9.
Q: I'm a graduate who was approved to graduate in the last few days. Can I still get a ticket?
A: Yes. Please ask your college or school to forward your information to email@example.com. In the meantime, please set up a Texas Athletics ticket account if you don't already have one, and email the firstname.lastname@example.org with the email address associated with that account.
Q: My graduate ticket says "FIELD" for the section, and doesn't have a row or seat number.
A: All graduates will be seated on the field with their classmates in their college or school. Doctoral candidates from the Graduate School will be seated together. Graduates will process to their seats at the beginning of the ceremony, led by faculty marshals. Graduate seating within each college or school section is not assigned.
Q: I'm a graduate and didn't secure my ticket by May 17. Can I still attend?
A: Yes. Graduates may secure tickets until the afternoon of May 21.
Q: I'm a guest. How many tickets can I get?
A: The limit per transaction is 15 tickets. If you need more than 15, please complete another transaction to secure the remaining tickets.
Q: My guest ticket doesn't have a seat number?
A: Guest tickets are general admission. There are no assigned seats. Seating is available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Saving of seats is not permitted.
Q: I'm a guest and am requesting a wheelchair-accessible seat.
A: Please email email@example.com for access to the wheelchair accessible tickets.
Q: How can I get a physical (printed) ticket?
A: Tickets are only available electronically.
