Congratulations, Class of 2024!

Below is a checklist of items to take care of in the days, weeks, and months leading up to Commencement. Ensure you and your guests are ready to celebrate by completing these tasks.

  • Confirm your eligibility to participate in Commencement activities with your advisor if you haven't done so already.

  • Apply to graduate through your degree-granting college or school (double- and triple-majors must do so for each college/school granting a degree.) Colleges and schools will share information regarding the application process and deadlines with their degree candidates.

  • If needed, request accessibility accommodations for you (the graduate) or your guests for the college/school convocations and the university-wide ceremony (note: accommodations must be requested for each ceremony separately, as they are venue-specific).

  • Confirm your diploma information. Diplomas are sent in early June to the permanent address on record with the university unless alternate arrangements are made. To adjust the name on a diploma or the delivery method, visit the Texas One-Stop.

  • Ace your final exams!

  • Secure the necessary tickets for the ceremonies you and your guests are attending. Guests attending the university-wide ceremony at DKR-TMS do not need tickets. Graduates need a ticket in order to access graduate seating.

  • Sign up for text message alerts throughout Commencement weekend. Parking advisories, schedule updates, and weather alerts will be shared via text message with graduates and guests who sign up. Text UTGRAD24 to 888-777 to sign up. All numbers will be purged after Commencement.

  • Review the security information for the university-wide ceremony to ensure you and your guests aren't delayed in entering the stadium.

  • Review emails from University Events regarding Commencement; forward emails to your guests as appropriate.
